Lay Responder Classes in CPR/AED and First Aid
This class is taught in three separate modules.
Adult CPR/AED is a required module and provides hands-on training to prepare students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. Courses with AED also include the proper use of an automated external defibrillator. [One-year certification]
Child and Infant CPR is an optional module and is designed for childcare providers, teachers, parents and others who care for children, this course teaches participants how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to 12 years of age. [One-year certification]
First Aid is an optional module and students learn the skills need to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive (within 20 minutes). This class is also available as a stand-alone class. [Three-year certification]NOTE: Online registration will enroll the student in ALL of the above modules. To enroll in only specific modules, you must contact the chapter office.
Online Classes in CPR and First Aid
Blended Learning classes are now available. These classes combine an online (distant learning) segment with an instructor led skill session. The instuctor led classroom time is greatly reduced with this learning option. [Currently only lay responder classes are available.]
Professional Responder Classes in CPR/AED
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer - This class is designed for the Professional Responder. Lifeguards, healthcare workers, emergency responder, and other professional rescuers should take this course. [One-year certification]
Oxygen Administration for Professional Rescuers - Learn to provide care using breathing devices including suction devices, oral and nasal airways, masks, resuscitators and supplemental oxygen. [One-year certification]
Review Classes in CPR
A review class option is only available for students in both Lay Responder CPR (Adult, Child & Infant) or in Professional Rescuer CPR. Certification within the previous two years is a prerequisite for any CPR review class.
Youth Classes
Babysitter's Training - For youth ages 11 to 15. Learn how to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians.
Safe On My Own - For ages 8 to 12. Provides information to help children know what to do in a variety of situations when they are home alone. The course will help children handle basic emergencies.
First Aid for Children Today - This class helps children, ages 5 to 8, understand the important role they have in managing their health and safety as well as the health of the environment in which they live.
Aquatic Classes
Lifeguard Training - Must be age 15 by end of course. There are swimming prerequisites for this class. Contact the chapter for details.
Water Safety Instructor/Lifeguard Instructor - Must be age 16 by end of course date and demonstrate maturity. There are swimming prerequisites for this class. Contact the chapter for details.
Pet First Aid Classes
Your pet depends on you for his or her well-being. In addition to providing daily care, love and affection, your best friend depends on you in an emergency. If your pet becomes ill or injured or needs help in a disaster, the American Red Cross can help.

Continuing Education Credits
Continuing Education Credits (based upon the number of course hours) can be provided to Dental Professionals for an additional $5 per person for any of the optional modules.
